Location:
Forth Primary School, 45 Wilmot Road, Forth, Tasmania.
Team:
Annette Matthews, artist and project co-ordinator, with all Forth Primary School students and staff.
Accessible to public:
Yes.
Mural theme:
Sesquicentenary Celebratory mural.
Background to mural creation:
The objective was to create an artwork that produced a ‘snapshot’ of 2017 which celebrated the school and reflects the spirit of Forth Primary School’s motto ‘Be The Best You Can Be’.
The mural uses an art technique known as Trompe l’oeil or ‘deceive the eye’. The illusion is that some of the students are painting the mural. The mural within the mural is imagery of what Forth Primary School means to them. They are the artists of the inner space.
